FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SLEDFEST FOR THE RECORD Event Cancelled –
February 07, 2026, Wasaga Beach, Ontario
It is with mixed feelings that the Wasaga Snowmobile Club announces the cancellation of the SledFest For The Record event scheduled for February 15, 2026, in Wasaga Beach.
SledFest For The Record was planned with two important objectives:
To attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest snowmobile parade, bringing recognition to Wasaga Beach and Ontario.
To raise funds for local South Georgian Bay food banks and to help send children to summer camp through SledHead4Kids / AMICI Children Camps.
Our snowmobile trails were ready, and our dedicated volunteers were fully prepared to deliver a safe and well-organized event. Unfortunately, due to a low number of pre-registrations, we are unable to proceed. The current participation level would not allow us to cover essential event costs, including insurance, and would also fall well short of the numbers required to successfully break the record.
We are grateful to our sponsors, neighboring snowmobile clubs, OFSC, OPP, MTO, Town of Wasaga Beach, Beach BOOSTER Media, The SUN and other Media News support, The Royal Canadian Legion, and all volunteers engaged in the planning of this event.
While this decision was not made lightly, it is the responsible course of action at this stage.
We may try again...
On Behalf of Wasaga Snowmobile Club Executive Board.
